2016 05 01Board Every month Livingston Cricket Club Board meet to look after the interests of, and to govern the club.

The current Board members are Iain Murdoch, Paul Hammersley, Neil Jarvis, Mark Gray, Jim Wilson, Jenny Anderson, Robert Bowering, Gordon Young and Paul Burgess.

In order that members of the club are more informed, the Board have agreed to share the key elements of the meeting. This month's discussions featured on:

  • Approval of funding through the Sport Scotland, Direct Club Investment fund (DCI) for a Club Development Officer and that this role will be advertised through appropriate websites from this week. This will be an important paid role within the club to take forward development of the cricketing teams at all levels
  • Continuing the momentum in improving the club facilities, by drawing up a list of activities that need completing
  • Agreement to the annual review of bar prices which may cause a change in bar prices from 1st May 2016
  • Implementation of the new Cricket Scotland guidelines for Protecting Vulnerable Groups
  • To continue to work with Sports Marketing Network as Cricket Scotland continue to fund this support for LCC
  • Objectives for the club this year, which are formalised as:
    • Playing Membership:To build playing membership at least in line with DCI targetsand ensuring full payment of fees and subscriptions
    • Social Membership: To grow the LCC Social Membership to 200 members to provide an annual income stream of £1,000 to the club
    • Working with Schools: To create School teams within both Primary and Secondary Schools and provide competitions for them
    • Working with the Community: To work with eight community groups to actively use the clubhouse for meetings and activities
    • Financial: To make cricket as affordable as possible for players while covering cricket related costs; To generate sufficient profit from the bar to meet the expenditure arising from running the club facilities; To meet our targeted fundraising each year to support planned development projects
